The Roberto Longhi Foundation was born from the testamentary will of the great art historian Roberto Longhi.
Located in the hills above Florence, it is housed in the villa where the art historian lived with his wife. It consists of an archive with the art historian's correspondence, diaries and notes, as well as an archive dedicated to the writer (his wife) Anna Banti.
The Foundation also has an impressive Photo Library consisting of 70,000 units, subdivided according to the order assigned to them by the scholar.
As for the Library, this consists of 36,000 volumes. Completing the Foundation's holdings is the Art Collection.
The Foundation is a study and research place; however, it is possible to book guided tours of the art collection, which take place once a month. Reservations are compulsory at longhi@fondazionelonghi.it
