The Municipality of Rignano sull'Arno, with the aim of promoting and enhancing the territory and its excellences, has been organising the Suoni e Colori in Toscana Festival since 1990: an event that over these decades has become a tradition for the entire Valdarno and the Florentine metropolitan area, which this year will take place from 1 to 15 September.
Rignano sull'Arno is located in an area with a vocation for hospitality and beauty, which interweaves the pleasures of culture with the convivial enjoyment of evenings dedicated to the encounter between artists and the public in places with breathtaking charm. This is a way to celebrate some of Rignano's late summer nights by meeting here, on these hills, in spaces steeped in ancient traditions.
The main themes of the event remain the tradition and contemporaneity of 'cultured' music, but also the focus on the different souls of today's quality.
The variety of events embraces all forms of musical language: from jazz to classical music, from folk to contemporary music and theatre/songwriting, bringing performances by nationally and internationally renowned artists to the area's villas, farms and churches, and showcasing some of the best young up-and-coming international artists.
Opera music concert
The duo is formed by Riccardo Onori (former guitarist for Jovanotti, Tananai and Vasco Brondi, on electric guitar and effects) and Kalifa Kone (a great Malian multi-instrumentalist, he plays several traditional West African instruments: Djembe, Ngoni, Balafon and percussion instruments)
The project stems from the desire to mix two apparently very different cultures and try to merge them in order to find something new. The concert is based on all original music written especially for this formation. The two musicians will use tracks of musical themes and then develop new musical scenarios through improvisation.
