Pratolino Medici Park, open to visitors!

Reopening from April 1, 2025 to November 2, Pratolino Medici Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site among other Medici Villas & Parks, located 20 minutes’ drive from Florence (well connected by public bus 25A).

Francesco I de’ Medici commissioned in the 16th century his architect Bernardo Buontalenti to design the villa – later demolished - and the gardens (garden of marvels) to please himself and his mistress Bianca Cappello; here you can still admire the The Giant, an amazing statue by Giambologna. The property passed to the Lorena Dynasty who redesigned the gardens in the style of the time and finally to a Russian Family, the Demidoff.

Now the Park is public property (Città Metropolitana di Firenze – Metropolitan City of Florence) and it is still appreciated as a unique place to discover, where environment and nature combine with history and art.

The Park is open, with free admission, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 8pm (April, Mau, August, September) and from 10am to 9pm (June, July). Open on holidays as well.
