Flowers Galore!

Spring has broken out and you can come to Florence not only for its famous works of art, but also for the flowers.
Yes, you read that right. The city offers various events and venues for lovers of the colourful and fragrant objects of nature.

The first place to mention is Villa Bardini. A villa surrounded by a large park, whose irresistible attraction in this season is the wisteria pergola. A true star (also on Instagram), the wisteria plant that clings to the pergola above the driveway leading to the belvedere is a sensory immersion in colour and scent.

In the alleys, on the lawns and around the splendid Tepidarium, the pride of the Giardino dell'Orticultura in Florence, the Flower and Plant Show takes place from 25 April to 1 May.
An irresistible attraction for Florentines and tourists in search of perfumes and colours, the exhibition gives space to 75 exhibitors offering indoor and outdoor plants, succulent plants, dried flowers, garden furniture, perfumes and phytocosmetics. Entrance - free - to the garden from 9 am to 7.30 pm from both via Vittorio Emanuele II and via Bolognese.

The Iris Garden, located just below Piazzale Michelangelo, also opens to the public on 25 April. The garden is home to numerous prestigious varieties of irises, which also compete for a prize in the International Iris Competition. The garden, which offers stunning views of the city due to its location, is free of charge and remains open until 20 May.

And how can we forget the Rose Garden? Mirroring the Iris Garden (one to the right of Piazzale Michelangelo, the other to the left), it is a public park open all year round, but spring is of course the time of maximum splendour. Absolutely not to be missed for an immersion in beauty!
