550 years after Michelangelo's birth (1475), there are many initiatives planned during this year, in Florence and throughout Tuscany, to celebrate this important anniversary.
In "his Florence" - the city where he spent much of his life, leaving us extraordinary masterpieces, and where, moreover, he is buried - special tributes will be paid to Michelangelo over the course of 2025. The places involved are those inextricably linked to him, starting with the Academy Gallery, which offers the program “The Eternal Contemporary”. Many events are planned for March 6, his birthday! Among the places involved on this special day: the Palazzo Vecchio, the Basilicas of Santa Croce and San Lorenzo... soon to be the Casa Buonarroti Museum as well. This is an extensive program that is being constantly, further defined.
