The cathedral of Fiesole is dedicated to San Romolo and dates back to the 11th century. The Romanesque layout is recognizable despite subsequent alterations. The interior has three naves; on the presbytery there is the splendid Renaissance chapel dedicated to Bishop Leonardo Salutati with sculptures by Mino da Fiesole. Under the presbytery there is an elegant crypt. The bell tower is from the 13th century but was rebuilt in the 17th century and equipped with battlements.
