Cercina is a small locality on the slopes of Monte Morello. The parish church of Sant'Andrea, in a beautiful position in the countryside, is the centrepiece of the locality.
The parish church has a Romanesque appearance, although the facade features a 16th-century portico. Interestingly, there is a 16th century fresco under the portico depicting the miraculous arrival of the wooden statue of the Madonna and Child, which has been much venerated over the centuries and is still kept inside in a completely frescoed chapel. It is a polychrome wooden statue dated around 1250.
Other works housed in the parish church include a triptych with the Madonna Enthroned, St Peter and St Andrew attributed to the Master of the San Niccolò altar and a fresco attributed to Domenico Ghirlandaio depicting Saint Barbara.
