The Florentine workshop of the Guarnieri family has been active since 1944. It has been located on Lungarno Cellini since 1978, outside the Porta di San Niccolò. Brothers Roberto (architect) and Rodolfo (art teacher) were born in Florence in 1956 and 1963, respectively. Together they established the ‘ART GALLERY STUDIO IGUARNIERI’, transforming the workshop into a space that offers works of contemporary art executed with ancient techniques but using contemporary materials and tastes. Their collaborative efforts are inspired by the ‘ideal Renaissance workshop’, a meeting place for architects, painters, sculptors, patrons, intellectuals, teachers and students in a process of continuous interpersonal exchange of skills and abilities in the shared search for ‘beauty’. Today many of the gallery’s works form part of important private and public collections on the five continents. Since 2005, their work-related travels have kept alive the tradition of fresco painting, executing works on commission for both single clients and public and private companies in Italy, the US, Canada, Russia, the Emirates and Australia.
