Active since: 1977 Areas of interest: Modern art, specialising in 19th- and 20th-century painting and sculpture; Macchiaioli and post-Macchiaioli currents
Galleria Parronchi made its debut in 1977, opening its first gallery with an exhibition of Tuscan painting from the Neoclassical to the post-Macchiaioli eras, together with a publication. Since then, the gallery has hosted two thematic exhibitions each year, in spring and autumn. In 1992, it opened a second location in Milan, which likewise became the venue of important exhibitions. Over the years, it has published a number of catalogues and monographs on painters from the 19th and early 20th centuries; most recently, it compiled a monograph on Beppe Ciardi, which was published by Allemandi in 2019. Since 1989, Antonio Parronchi has been a consultant for the publication of the annual Mondadori catalogue of 19th-century Italian art. The Milan gallery closed in the first years of the new millennium, yet Parronchi continues his work as gallery owner in Florence, participating in important events, such as the Florence International Antiques Fair.
