Settantadue nomi - Italian Garden

The park surrounding the l'Ambrogiana Medici Villa, in Montelupo Fiorentino hosts, from May 2022, the site specific installation by artist Marco Bagnoli "Settantadue nomi - Italian Garden", made up of 72 vases in blue, green and copper-coloured glazed ceramic, arranged in quincunxes (four elements at the top of the sides of a square and the fifth in the centre), that symbolically represent Earth in the moment of its creation.

The installation is also sonic, the vases become sound vases or "sonovasori", as named by the author, that reproduce a voice intoning the words of Persian poet Rumi, brought to life by the voices of the artisans who participated in creating the work.

Settantadue nomi - Italian Garden is the work with which the Museo della Ceramica di Montelupo, with a project by the Fondazione Museo Montelupo Onlus, won the 2020 edition of Italian Council, the international call promoted by the General Direction for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture to support, promote and give value to Italian contemporary art in our country and the world.
