Ideal for a picnic, walks in the countryside with children or simply to enjoy relaxing moments outdoors, there are many parks and equipped green spaces in the municipalities of the Empolese Valdelsa and Montalbano area.
In Cerreto Guidi, the Parco dell’Albereta lies along the right bank of the Arno river and stretches for about 5000 square metres. Equipped with benches and a children's play area, it also hosts events, sports meetings and shows.
The Parco Corsini in Fucecchio, a few steps from the library and the museum, is particularly evocative thanks to its medieval stronghold and its position in the heart of the old town. In summertime the park hosts numerous concerts and events that make it an ideal place for an evening out.
In Empoli you can relax in the Parco di Serravalle “Romano Nanni”, veritable “green lung” of the city, connected to the old town by a cycle path. Besides benches, pic nic tables and a children's play area, you also find a small lake and a thicket. This is also the location of the summer musical event Beat Festival. Connected to the Parco di Serravalle by a dirt road of 7 km that skirts the Arno river is the Parco dell’Ambrogiana in Montelupo Fiorentino. Located next to the Medici Villa of the same name, this park of over 8.000 square metres is particularly suited to a walk in the open air.
A beloved place for sport activities is the Parco Collinare di Canonica, not far from the hamlet of Certaldo, also ideal for a picnic surrounded by the Valdelsa hills. The park is indeed equipped with a barbecue area, a refreshment point and the “life path”. It is also attended by those who love playing aerial sports, such as paragliding.
Last but not least we recommend the Municipal Park in Gambassi Terme. Located between the old town and the thermal bath, the park is a pleasant space where you can find refreshment, especially during hot summers, walking along the small paths and the vegetation tunnels.
