The route, 43 Km divided into four legs, was created by the Gruppo Trekking Bagno a Ripoli, connecting in a single itinerary local roads, trails, and secondary roads, easy to walk thanks to the specific signage and the published guide. Rising and falling through the hills of the municipality of Bagno a Ripoli you discover little hamlets, historical landmarks, ancient churches, walking pleasantly on paths and dirt roads, surrounded by olive trees and cypresses, with panoramic glimpses of the Chianti area and the valley of Florence.
The route begins from the village called Ponte a Niccheri, slightly sloping to reach the Fonte della Fata Morgana, the nymphaeum built by Bernardo Vecchietti in the 16th century, then going down towards the town of Grassina. It continues passing by Lappeggi, an ancient country residence, reworked by Bernardo Buontalenti by order of Francesco de' Medici, to continue upwards to Fonte Santa, a territorial park frequently visited by the local population, ideal for walks and picnics, and finally going downhill towards Montisoni. Through the Tuscan countryside you climb back towards the Spedale del Bigallo, resting place for the pilgrims on their way to Rome, until you reach Montepilli and lap the Convento dell'Incontro, and then you descend towards Bagno a Ripoli.
