Vigneti nel Chianti

Experiences with the Chianti Classico Card

Here is the Chianti Classico Card, the tool to guide tourists in their discovery of one of the essential elements of the history and culture of the Gallo Nero area: Chianti Classico wine and its production territory, with its treasures.

Developed in collaboration with the Municipality of Florence, the way it functions mirrors the same concept of the Firenze Card: tourists and enthusiasts can in fact choose among over 200 unforgettable experiences and live “unique moments”, with the opportunity to choose among the offers of over 100 wineries and olive farms of the area that have joined the project, sampling the Gallo Nero brand products and visiting the artistic and architectural treasures that are found among the wonderful hills between Florence and Siena.

In this unique land you can in fact enjoy multiple experiences:

Visit and tasting: if there is a story behind each glass of wine, there is no better storytelling than first-hand experience. Meeting producers among their vineyards and in their cellars, discovering the characteristics of the soils, retracing the production process and the philosophy behind it, tasting wines in their company: a full immersion into the world of the Gallo Nero member companies.

Enogastronomicard

Chianti Classico, produced in three types by over 340 wineries, is highly versatile and goes well with the most diverse dishes. An aperitif in the vine, a gourmet dinner, a simple Tuscan snack or a cooking class, introducing friends to a taste of the Gallo Nero world at home.

Picnic in the vine

In the open air, with a basket of delicacies and a bottle of Chianti Classico, the best way to fully immerse yourself in the Gallo Nero world and savour the scents, sounds and colours, right there where everything starts, among the vineyards, far from the city chaos.

DOP oil

The green gold of the Chianti Classico area, the quality assurance label (DOP) Chianti Classico oil is much more than an extra virgin olive oil. Its typical fragrances of artichoke, bitter almond and a spicy note finish any dish with a unique flavour. Eleven experiences to discover a universe created by the synergy of nature with man, from the olive mill to the surprising cocktails in which this high quality oil is an essential ingredient.

Chianti Classico Culture

The Chianti Classico landscape is the result of an evolution where man has left visible traces through the parish churches, castles and medieval towers that we can see today along the Gallo Nero roads. Inhabited since Etruscan times, this land has long been disputed between the Republics of Florence and Siena during the Middle Ages, and was chosen by the Florentine families as the seat of their villas in the following centuries. Six experiences recount the details of this centuries-old history.

Transfer

A land to be preserved, whose custodians of today are the Chianti Classico winemakers, who invite those who are without a means of transport to take advantage of the discounts on the rental of a car or an electric vespa, thanks to the partnership with two leading companies in the industry, so as to fully enjoy the beauty of the Gallo Nero hills, with zero impact.

Casa Chianti Classico

The first step into the Gallo Nero world can only be at its home. Discover all there is to know about Chianti Classico at the Convent of Santa Maria in Radda in Chianti, in two fascinating experiences.

Casa Chianti Classico Experience

Our most engaging experience, to fully understand the Chianti territory and the excellence of its products, the Chianti Classico wine and the quality assurance label Chianti Classico extra virgin oil. The sensory path will be the first step of an afternoon spent between the convent and the surrounding vineyards, the wine-making and ageing cellars in a winery and the guided tasting of the three types of Chianti Classico. Ending with a tasty afternoon snack based on DOP extra virgin oil and artisanal cured meats and cheese.

Visit with tasting

An expert guided experience which will make you discover the characteristics of 3 of the many Chianti Classico wines available for tasting and learn better about the different shades of Gallo Nero.

The card is fully digital and works through a system of points that are credited to the card itself; you can buy it at
