There are many types of accommodation that you can look for, from the hotel to the farmhouse, from the campsite to the landlord. However, we always advise you to contact the structure in advance in order to acquire more information, both on the level of accessibility in detail, and on any additional services offered.
There are also dedicated platforms that offer specific information on disabled-friendly facilities. In this sense you can consult the following sites: V4A (Village for all) Handysuperabile
Furthermore, as regards the accommodation facilities suitable for welcoming people with visual impairments, the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired has selected a series of hotels in Florence (London, Mediterranean, Meridiana, St. Regis, Villa la Vedetta, Westin Excelsior) where people with visual disabilities, in addition to being welcomed by specially trained staff, will have audio-guides that will help them move better within the structure.
We would like to remind you that the Municipality of Florence provides exemption from the tourist tax for the severely disabled (whose disability condition is certified pursuant to Article 3, paragraph 3 of Law No. 104/92 and similar provisions of the countries of origin for foreign citizens), as well as for an accompanying person
Finally, we recommend that you also consult the section dedicated to accessible tourism of the tourist site of the Tuscany Region, where you can find further ideas.
