The 12th edition of the Balagàn Café kicks off! Music, cultural events, drinks, tastings, and guided tours from June 20 to September 5, every Thursday in the Synagogue garden with an extraordinarily rich program of classical and traditional music, as well as meetings, films, good food, and guided tours.
The theme chosen for the series of meetings, culminating with the European Day of Jewish Culture, is titled "Where Peace Begins." The meetings are of the highest caliber: Balagàn's commitment to generating dialogue and mutual understanding is expressed through a series of conversations, all held between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM, featuring prominent figures.
The event opens at 7:00 PM with free admission, guided tours of the Synagogue and the Jewish Museum, and tastings (by reservation and until supplies last) of exquisite dishes from the Jewish world. The evenings include music, meetings with authors and cultural and entertainment figures, and conclude with a concert. Each night, national and international representatives of the Jewish world and beyond perform on the enchanting staircase of the Great Synagogue.
Guided tours of the Synagogue and the Jewish Museum cost 10 euros and will be conducted by dedicated operators. A reservation is required by calling +39 055 2989879.
A special summer cultural festival organized by the Jewish Community of Florence and the Tuscan Jewish Network Committee, in collaboration with the Jewish Museum of Florence, with support from the Tuscany Region.
