Properly named Società Ricreativa L'Affratellamento di Ricorboli, the Association was founded as a Mutual Aid Company on July 1st, 1876 and has been in its present location since May 1888. The theatre hall was inaugurated in 1898. After several renovations, during the 50s, 60s and 80s, it reopened on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the 1966 flood. This was also made possible by the close collaboration of the Municipality of Florence and Quartiere 3. The wide building hosts nowadays not only theatre performances and workshops, but also exhibitions, dance lessons, wellness activities, meetings, conferences, film shows and concerts.
