Active since: 1860 Areas of interest: Replicas of classical sculpture in bronze and marble; contemporary art
Galleria Frilli is proud of its long tradition of bringing centuries of art historical experience into everyday life. Our sculptures are handmade; we have preserved the ancient techniques of both lost-wax casting and sculpting in marble. For this reason, today more than ever Galleria Frilli is synonymous with the highest quality throughout the world. Our works have been purchased by royal families, displayed at international exhibitions and sold by the world’s most important auction houses. Our sculptures can be admired in some of the most exclusive residences and gardens; above all, they belong to those who share a true passion for sculpture and art. The gallery was established in 1860, originally as a sculpture atelier. Though small, it was well known for its production of museum-quality replicas of classical works of sculpture. This type of work has always enjoyed great respect, above all in the past. Indeed many of the works displayed today in museums throughout the world are replicas of originals which have been lost. Thanks to our renowned experience in the field of sculpture, a number of important projects have been commissioned to us over the decades, such as the monumental marble sculptures that adorn Stanford University in Palo Alto. More recently, we have been involved in realising faithful replicas of the gates of the Florence Baptistery.
The gallery also carries out custom-made projects: beginning with an initial idea, we are able to propose specific solutions based on unique styles to best satisfy the tastes and needs of every client. There is no work that Galleria Frilli is not able to replicate. Our productions are true artistic replications in the most classical sense of the term because our models are taken from originals and not mere copies inspired by them. For over 20 years, our gallery has also offered a collection of original sculptures by contemporary artists. The selection of represented artists is varied, international and constantly growing. Most of the displayed works are in marble and bronze because we would like to maintain a connection between contemporary art and our most profound identity. In its exclusive historic location in Via dei Fossi in Florence, the gallery dedicates a continually expanding space to figurative contemporary art, which is able to create a fascinating dialogue with the classical works.
