It collects evidence of the culture of wine, the main product of the Montespertoli area, with a continuous comparison between present and past, documented by panels, blow-ups and period photographs.
The various stages of vine cultivation, harvesting, vinification and bottling are shown, with the environments of the vat cellar and the wine cellar. Finally, the Laboratory of the Senses, for children and adults, introduces the discovery of wine through the exercise of the five senses. Traditional Tuscan dishes can be tasted in the adjoining wine shop.
In the Saletta del Territorio, on the second floor, you can visit the exhibition of the so-called 'Tesoretto monetale da Tresanti': a collection of coins found in 1943 during the demolition of a farmhouse. These are Carlini or Grossi, issued in Florence between 1505 and 1529, also known as Barili, because they were used to pay duty on barrels of wine.
