Giorgio Vasari, who was born in Arezzo, spent the last years of his life in Florence in a house near the church of Santa Croce. Of his former home still remains the big hall called Sala Grande, fully frescoed by Vasari himself and his pupils. The frescoes are seen as a masterpiece of the Mannerism.
Today’s restoration allows visitors to rediscover a place of great beauty and extraordinary charm as it was conceived over four centuries ago.
