The Oratory of Vannella is located in Settignano, hilly hamlet of Florence. It was built and frescoed between 1719 and 1721 in memory of the apparition of the Virgin Mary to a young girl named Vanna, commonly called Vannella. The image of the Virgin is venerated as miraculous protector of the stonecutters and sculptors from Settignano.
Established to protect the oratory, the congregation “of the Thirtieth” (30 confreres) has been based here since 1754.
