Surrounded by forests fir trees, the Moscheta abbey was founded by Saint John Gualberto in 1034. The abbey had periods of great splendor, then it was suppressed in the Lorraine period and reduced to a parish. The various buildings are arranged around a courtyard.
Today the complex houses the Museum of the Historical Landscape of the Apennines.
