On Tuesday 9 July 2024, at 5.30 p.m., the exhibition by Wu Weishan 吴为山 opens in the Salone delle Esposizioni of the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno in Florence to celebrate the seventh centenary of the death of Marco Polo, known as one of the first travellers to the Far East and a key figure in the history of economic and cultural exchanges between Italy and China.
Wu Weishan 吴为山, a Chinese artist and one of the most important sculptors of the new generation, is at his first personal exhibition in Florence, although he is already known to the Italian public with the exhibition of his sculptures in Rome in 2012 and in Vinci in 2020. Wu's work can be understood not only in classical Chinese sculpture, but also in European sculpture.
The exhibition features the works of Wu Weishan Master of sculpture and painting, but also a great contemporary thinker.
