Once again this year, numerous and varied events have been scheduled for the "Week of the Florentine", from March 18th to March 25th, to celebrate the traditions and symbols of our city. On March 25th, Florence celebrates the Florentine New Year, to remember that until 1750 in Florence, the civil year began precisely on this day, the feast of the Annunciation.
The lineup of activities is particularly rich. It ranges from the red illumination of the monumental gates to guided carriage tours in the Cascine Park; from walks to discover the area in Oltrarno recently included in the Unesco site (the hilly area between San Niccolò and San Miniato al Monte) to the fair in Piazza Santa Maria Novella, on the weekend, dedicated to artistic craftsmanship and the excellence of Florentine food and wine. There are also events dedicated to important symbolic figures who have made the history of Florence.
