The most important exhibition of Helen Frankenthaler's work takes place in Florence, in the rooms of Palazzo Strozzi. Painting Without Rules, the work of one of the most important American artists of the 20th century, the first female abstractionist, who passed away in 2011.
The exhibition mainly deploys large works by Frankenthaler, created between 1953 and 2002 and coming from the Foundation of the same name, but alongside these are other modern artists whose lives or styles were in some way intertwined with those of the artist: Robert Motherwell, Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko.
The exhibition Helen Frankenthaler, Painting Without Rules runs from 27 September 2024 to 26 January 2025 in the rooms of Palazzo Strozzi, Florence.
